Since 1999, First Congregational UCC has experienced a rich and multi-faceted relationship with the African Inland Churches in Kenya, a denomination deeply engaged in social service. Our church has worked with the denomination and the Kerio Valley District Church Council to improve quality of life in the western region of Kenya. Our missions in Kenya are enacted through the development and support of programs that encourage spiritual growth and educate children through scholarships to go to high school. Members of First Congregational travel to Kenya regularly, visiting leaders and friends in the area and visiting the Kenya students we support with scholarships. First Congregational also hosts visitors from Kenya to our area whenever the opportunity arises. We provide more than 100 scholarships for secondary students as well as critically needed soap and sanitation supplies.

Current projects and ministries of our partnership with churches in the Kerio Valley of Kenya include the following:

· Student Scholarship program for Secondary Students. We currently are providing over 100 scholarships to students from the Kerio Valley to attend High School.

· Soap and Sanitation Supplies. We currently provide soap and sanitation supplies to all of the students who receive scholarships.

· Hosting our Kenyan partners when they visit the U.S.

How you can help:

· Please consider joining the Kenya Partnership Team which personally impacts the lives of High School

Students in remote Kerio Valley of Kenya.

· Please consider providing a scholarship and or soap and sanitation supplies

to a Kenya Student to go to high school.

$500/year-Full High School Scholarships

$250/year-Half High School Scholarships

$35/year for soap and sanitation supplies
